For Individuals residing in Glen Avon, Jurupa, Mira Loma, Pedley, Riverside, & Rubidoux. Please call (951) 784-3571 Ext. 105 to find out what you need to bring with you during the hours of 1:00-3:00 P.M. (M-F). Please call if you would like to donate food to the our food pantry. Please check to make sure the food is in good condition and not expired. We are also always in need of diapers and toiletries such as toothpaste, tooth brushes, shampoo, and soap. Travel sized hotel items are great!!
Once a month families, seniors, & individuals in need that reside in zip codes of 92501 & 92506 may come and receive commodities.

HEAP is a federally funded program that helps low-income households pay their energy bill. Eligibility is based on the household's total monthly income, which cannot exceed the HEAP income guidelines (http://www.csd.ca.gov/documents/incometable.pdf). With the high costs of rent in Southern California families can quickly get into trouble. We are currently looking for funding for this program. Please contact us if you would be interested in helping to fund the Rent Assistance Program.
This program helps those that are temporarily unable to pay their rent and our no more than one month behind. Typically this inability to pay their rent is because of extenuating circumstances out of their control.
The Homeless Programs Unit coordinates services for homeless individuals and families in Riverside County. It is our mission to develop, and to provide guidance for, a successful Riverside County Continuum of Care. The Continuum of Care is a community’s plan to organize and deliver housing and services that meet the specific needs of homeless individuals and families as they move toward stable housing and maximum self-sufficiency. The following services are available to homeless individuals and families via the Continuum of Care:
- Outreach, intake, and assessment to identify housing and other social service needs
- Emergency shelter
- Transitional housing with supportive services to help people develop the skills necessary to live in permanent housing.
- Permanent housing and permanent supportive housing
Riverside's Cold Weather Shelters are open from December 1 to April 15. No identification is required for admission, but participants must be sober, drug free and must not have any illegal drugs, alcohol or weapons in their possession.
Shelter hours are from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM and check-in generally begins at 6:30 PM. In addition to a safe, warm place to sleep, participants are offered a hot meal in the evening, coffee or milk with breakfast and shower facilities. Case management services are available for participants interested in more comprehensive services.
This season the cold weather shelter will be located at 2840 Hulen Place, Riverside. The shelter will be operated by Path of Life Ministries (http://www.polministries.net/assistance.php) and can accommodate up to 120 persons. The shelter’s telephone number is (951) 683-4101.
The Coachella Valley cold weather shelter will be located at Martha's Village and Kitchen (http://www.marthasvillage.org/services.htm), 83-791 Date Avenue, Indio. This shelter can accommodate up to 100 persons. The shelter's telephone is (760) 347-4741.
Located at 2840 Hulen Place, Riverside, the shelter will offer 62 beds on a year-round basis. Participants will be assigned a case manager who will assess the individual’s needs and develop a case management plan. The Access Center will serve as a centralized contact point for the homeless in the greater Riverside area, providing outreach, intake, assessment, case management and referral services.
